What’s New

As the line-by-line phase of proofreading concludes, the book of Revelation has been updated. The Print and Digital editions are now available for review in all formats to meet the variety of needs, including PDF, ePub, eBook, Standard Print Hardcover, and Large Print Hardcover.

What’s Next

Throughout the Refresh process, some words were prematurely identified as “Archaic”. With new and expanded access to the full data set of the Oxford English Dictionary, the recognized worldwide leading authority on the English language, and its history, some terms have since been objectively identified as not being formally classified as Archaic. Because these words are objectively not Archaic, previous subjective decisions can be reversed with confidence as updating these terms would be outside the formal scope of the Refresh.

In other occurrences, some words formally classified as “Obsolete” or “Rare” are actually only classified in this way because of their limited biblical use. It is our conviction that mere limited biblical use is no warrant to refresh these words.

As these preliminary decisions have been identified throughout the proofreading process, they have been reversed from that point forward, and the text was been reverted to the original ASV rendering.

The final editing step is now to consistently apply these decisions in every occurrence, and this work has already begun…
